From Product Idea to Scale: Lessons from Building OneAD
Key learnings from building and scaling OneAD to 30M+ users and nearly 1.5B ads served every month.
Scaling a consumer product teaches lessons that are hard to learn from theory. Users respond quickly, costs rise quickly, bugs spread quickly and market conditions can change without warning.
OneAD started as a lock screen content and advertising platform. When platform policies changed, the team had to move fast. We tested news, astrology, cricket live scores and gaming. Gaming clicked.
The product journey taught us the importance of fast iteration, analytics, user feedback, cost control, infrastructure discipline, security and simple user experiences.
At scale, every decision matters. Server costs, load patterns, ad experience, abuse prevention, tournament logic and user engagement all affect product performance.
This product-scale experience still shapes SteadyRabbit. We build with speed, but also with stability. We care about delivery, but also about what happens when real users begin using the product.
